A Frigid 10º And Another Six Inches Of Snow Overnight

8:10
I was up at 7:00, in time to see Shane's snow plow clearing the road.  We did have quite a bit of snow overnight so it's a good thing he came early.  The forecast for the next few days suggests we may get up to another foot of snow by Friday.  I can hear the wind whistling and there's a wind advisory up the for the next twenty four hours.  The lake of course is frozen, covered with snow, with winds blowing huge swaths of snow, making it difficult to see Long Point.  I don't think we will be venturing any farther than the mailbox today.

Yesterday we were both in recovery mode, still feeling the after effects of our illnesses during the holidays.  No energy, listless, an effort to get up and do something productive.  My cough remains but it seems to be less bothersome, as the medicine begins to kick in...I hope. We mostly enjoyed the comfort and warmth of our home, fire blazing, as we either sat in the living room, listening to POTUS, a Sirius radio channel,  reading or surfing the Internet, or watching some TV.  About the extent of our efforts was to finish up washing and drying the dishes from the previous night.
Testing The Ice
Hugging On The Ice
I forgot to mention that we saw a couple of people walking on the lake just off the tip of Long Point around noon.  The lake had been frozen less than twenty four hours and these crazies were walking on it.  We were ready to call 911 but they were able to return to shore without a mishap.

The afternoon was much of the same, reading, having lunch while watching Jon Stewart, then a nap, more reading, some TV.  I did force myself to walk to the mailbox, nothing there, and I then did a fast shoveling of our parking space, hoping to keep up with it.  A good thing because there's another six inches covering it this morning.  We relaxed from 5:00 to 6:00, with a glass of wine, listened to Julia Mason on POTUS, a journalist/broadcaster we have come to enjoy.  She has all sorts of political guests, who talk about the news of the day.

Around 6:00, Evie got out homemade  frozen meatballs, mushrooms, a pasta sauce, threw them together, boiled some pasta and we had a dinner, with a salad of course.  Not much on TV on Tuesdays so we watched two more episodes of The Americans which I am really starting to enjoy.  I can see why it has gotten lots of good reviews.  We also watched two more episodes of Getting On, a hilarious mixture of a geriatric ward manned by seemingly insane doctors and nurses.  There are moments of great sadness followed by something absolutely hilarious, a curious mixture but it works.
