Heavy Fog and Rain Welcome The Day

5:25
5:30

Up at 5:15, to fog on the lake, a slight breeze, rain drops on the roof, but not the sound of purple martins.  Perhaps they too are staying inside because of the rain.  It' 58º outside, the high of 64º today, so it's a fleece morning.  I have to admit it feels nice and cosy to be warm in our house, watching the fog roll in, listening to the rain.

I was back in my yoga routine yesterday and class was crowded, like most Thursdays, so I had to squeeze in between two women in the front row, not my favorite spot.  It was good class, with a new rounded block which you placed under the middle of your back,  stretching your lower back and shoulders.  When you raised your torso about 10%, then relaxed back on the block, it felt amazing.  I left feeling energized, ready for shopping, what else.  Then, coffee at Ryder's, stops at Home Depot (for deck screws), Wegmans (for food), Office Max (envelopes and printer ribbon), gas station (propane fill up and return bottles), then home.
Rainy Thursday Afternoon

The rest of the day we both stayed inside, enjoying the rain, the gray, content to just do nothing after our busy Wednesday of  travel and working outside.  I have been reading an end of the world book called THE AGE OF MIRACLES, which I really like.  It's told from the point of view of a middle schooler, as the earth slows down, lengthening each day, each night, changing the rhythms for all, with nobody sure of the long term effects.  We see how this effects her family, neighborhood, friendships, over a period of time.  I also got back in the routine of having Turkish tea, mid afternoon, a nice respite from doing nothing, just reading and enjoying my leisure.
Windy Day

For dinner, we had ribs from Trader Joe's, ready to eat, just pop them in the oven for twenty minutes.  They are easy, quick, and the meat falls off the bones.  With salad and baked potatoes, we were quite happy.  We watched the first two hours of The Killing, the third year for this series set in Seattle and we both are in to it, think it may be even better than the first two years.  We also watched the first half of the Miami/San Antonio NBA game before going to bed.  A strange day, as we are not used to staying inside because of the rain.
