After the Storm: Stillness and Quiet

It's an eerie morning, not a trace of wind, the water calm, the sky still gray and unlike last night, no heavy rains, no wild winds, no tornado warnings, so out of character for this time of the year.  We must have gotten two to three inches last night, as the yard puddled up, the tree branches swayed during the heavy storms.  Fortunately, Ron and Linda were able to come over for dinner, so during most of it, we were either talking or eating our dinner.  By the time they left, around 9:30, it had calmed down and they were able to walk to the car without having to step in an inch or two of water.

According to the radio, there was quite a bit of wind damage in Chautauqua County, with the possibility of a tornado though they are not sure yet. I know homes in Fredonia lost power as well but for how long, I am not sure.  It's 48 degrees right now, as the sky begins to turn a light gray and supposedly will be in the 50's, perhaps the last time in awhile as snow is forecast for tomorrow.

The news just mentioned that there were two tornadoes in the area, one in Westfield, 15 miles away, one in Fredonia, about 25 miles away, the first tornado in November as far back as the records go.  Winds were up to 125 miles an hour though I have not heard of much damage, though they are still evaluating the effect.
