Striking Morning Of Sun, Clouds And Blue Skies

7:07

It's 8:30 and I paddled for close to 45 minutes, down to the Powerboat Club and back on a cool 56º morning. The clouds are amazing as I look both north and south. I was the only one on the lake until our friend Curt paddled out from Pine Hill.

Sunday was a good day because I woke wanting to do something rather than sit around and mope. I paddled for close to an hour, came home and finished the blog and had breakfast. Evie was interested in spending the day reading in the side yard after a couple of busy days and I don't blame her. I wasn't sure where to ride my bike so I drove towards Mayville, thinking I might be able to ride around the Chautauqua Institution but the gates were closed until today. So I parked at the Mayville park and rode two sections of Webb's Trail, struggling going out and literally coasting coming back. I then rode the Mayville Trail to the Mayville Cemetery and back to my car, and was out just about an hour on a perfect morning, cool and sunny.

I came straight home, making no stops at the Lighthouse Grocery, and was glad to get home because I was tired from my ride. I couldn't find Evie and I looked everywhere and figured she was at a neighbor's house, but I was still worried. Finally, she headed home, she was at our neighbor's house for lunch. By then it was 1:00 so she offered to make my lunch, fried eggs on top of a cheesy bagel. Yum. I watched my show and napped briefly, and then joined her in the side yard and read my new book, Descent by Tim Johnson. It's taking a while to get into it but I am liking it now. Our neighbor, Debbie came over with in newest grandson, Jayce, and he was a delight, and both Evie and I got to hold him.

We had our usual wine time at 5:00, enjoying the lake slowly quiet. The sky was as clear as we have seen it, no smoke from Canada. Dinner was easy as Evie heated up her leftover pork chop and pasta and that was our dinner along with a salad. We watched a couple of episodes of The Resident, Season Six, so it's just about finished. I ended the night with another Fauda and am about finished with it.
