Heron Morning

6:56

Great Blue Heron

It's 8:50 and I was out kayaking for over an hour, across to Tom's Point and back. I spotted at least three, maybe four herons, an eagle, and a cormorant. Good morning! It's sunny and warm again, and not a cloud in the sky. I got tired of listening to all the crap about Trump so I jumped to New Heights, where the Kelce brothers interview Taylor Swift.

Friday I went for a short paddle because I had to take my Outback back to Finns because of a rattle. So I wa on my way by 8:30, arrived at 9:00, and by 9:20, I was on my way to Wegmans with no rattle, a simple fix. Wegmans was surprisingly quiet, so I was able to get in and out fairly quick, getting home around 10:30. I wanted to get so exercise, so I got out my bike, drove to Mayville, and rode my typical route, Webb's Trail and Sea Lion Drive, and I was out for about an hour.

Webb's Trail

When I returned, I was hungry because I skipped breakfast so Evie made me a couple of tomato sandwiches and heated up the garbanzo bean soup. I watched my show and was tired, so I turned on the air conditioner and read and napped for an hour. Evie spent most of the afternoon on the dock, so I joined her around 3:30 and then came in around 4:30. At 5:00, I looked out and Evie was in the yard, motioning me to come out. She had fallen on the dock, dropped her bag with her phone in the water, jumped in and got it and walked in while Iwas sitting on the couch, unaware of her fall. Fortunately, she seems ok but the phone may have been compromised by falling in the lake.

We were able to then enjoy a glass of wine on the dock before she seared a couple of chicken breasts and made a salad for our dinner. We watched a couple of episodes of our show and Evie went up to be as usual around 8:30, and I then watched my shows.
