Sixty Years |
It was not much of a paddle, no fishing boats, and no waterfowl on a boring paddle. The gray sky paralleled my kayaking, and I should have skipped it and just stayed home and written the blog. It's 9:20 and I just returned from breakfast in Bemus with Jack. Today's our 60th anniversary, but we will wait till Saturday to celebrate.

Kayak Morning |
Wednesday was a good day, looking back on it. I got in a good paddle and photographed lots of herons. Wednesday is the most rigorous day for yoga so I wanted to participate so I wrote the blog, ate breakfast and was on my way by 9:40. Class was as expected, in fact, it was too rigorous and I found myself unable to keep up with some of the poses, at least I could not hold plank as long as the rest of class. It made me wonder if I was out of shape because I hadn't gone to yoga regularly, or if I was just old. Just out of shape, right?
I was home by noon and had lunch, a couple of great fish sandwiches, compliments of Evie, and they rivaled the perch sandwiches at Jake's Barcelona Drive-In. Once I was done, I was ready to spend the afternoon reading and napping as usual, and helping Evie in the house. I also got some things done in the yard. like weed whacking and cutting, and shaping our privets, something that needed to be done for weeks, but I was too lazy to do it.
We were done with everything by the magic hour, 5:00, relaxed with a glass of wine, and talked about the fact that Thursday would be our 60th anniversary. It didn't seem possible, just like it doesn't seem possible that we have three children, seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. We are so fortunate! We had steak and fried potatoes for dinner and watched our shows before going up to bed to read and sleep, the end of a busy day.
Happy Anniversary! Remember Mom and Dad's 60th anniversary that we celebrated at Chautauqua??
