Not only is there hardly a breeze this morning, but until I paddled in, I was the only boat on the lake for an hour. It's a gray, 65º morning, with hardly a wave. It was a good morning for birding as I spotted at least four different herons, a couple of cormorants, and an eagle.

It warmed up a bit yesterday, as it almost hit 80º in the afternoon. So it was a chilly morning, in the 50s, and I was out for close to an hour. I knew I wanted to get in some activity in the morning, so after the blog and breakfast, I drove to Lakewood, parked my car behind Lake Life Cafe, and rode down to Celeron and back, a roughly one-hour ride, with a brief stop at Ryders Cup for coffee. I wonder how it seems like the wind is in my face both going and coming from an area, but it sure seems that way.

I was home just after 12:00, and Evie had already made me a couple of sandwiches for lunch. I ate and watched my series, and Evie, having showered, got ready to go shopping at Wegmans and T.J. Maxx. While she was gone, I tried to nap but mostly read my book, Heartwood, about a young woman who gets lost on the Appalachian Trail in Maine and the search for her. It's interesting. Evie returned home around 3:00 with a couple of bags of goodies, and I helped bring the bags in and put stuff away. By 5:00, Evie was on a Zoom call with her sisters, and by 6:00, we were on the front porch enjoying the occasional drizzle, wine, and appetizers. Dinner was easy: baked potatoes, a tomato salad, and breaded haddock from Wegmans, an easy, go-to meal. We watched a couple of episodes of The Resident, then when Evie went to bed, I watched Fauda before going to bed.
