Busy Morning In Dallas (not for us)

Ready For School
Morning In University Park
Most are up at the moment as it's just after 7:00.  I was up at 6:15 as was Rami and made myself a coffee with a shot of espresso with milk, a hardy way to start the day.  Marisa and Rami are off at 7:45 for school and work.  Beth is off for her class as well but will be back by 11:00.  Evie and Tyler are still sleeping and Tyler leaves for home, depending on the weather in Boston, at 12:30.

Home
Yesterday all of us were sloths, hardly venturing forth, tired from the Thanksgiving rush and for us, the drives to KC, then Dallas.  As usual, Rami and I were up way before the rest of the gang.  I am sure it felt good to sleep in.  Tyler and Marisa were the last to get up and by the time they were downstairs, Beth started breakfast.  It was a big, Sunday breakfast, eggs, bacon, and also buttermilk pancakes to make sure you were filled up.  It was enough to hold most of us off until dinner time.  We said goodbye to Mitchell at 11:00 because he was having lunch with Milena's family then driving back to Austin.

Kaia Wants To Head Back To UT With Mitchell
For some reason, I was excited to watch the Browns/Steelers game but should have paid attention to the history between these two teams.  Pittsburgh always wins even if they are led by an untested quarterback.  More decisively was the play of the Browns, mostly inept and undisciplined on both offense and defense. And the game was so boring that I fell asleep and missed a good part of the second half.

My exercise for the day was to take Kaia out for three walks around the neighborhood, admiring all the interesting homes and the great oak trees, with limbs often hanging over the roofs.  Kaia is not well trained, so she jumps towards other walkers or dogs so I have to be careful to hold her back or avoid them entirely. She will be getting training later in the week.

Around 4:00, Marisa and Tyler walked the five minutes up to the YMCA for a workout, putting us adults to shame on our couches. We watched the Chiefs play and easily win and I think I have had enough sports for the rest of the month, having watched basketball and football games in KC and football here in Dallas.  What else does one do over Thanksgiving?

Dinner was complicated by Tyler who kept changing his mind as to what he wanted to do, stay in or go out.  And once that was decided, he kept changing his mind as to what to order in, finally settling on a pizza place that also offered roasted chicken, a good choice because everyone was able to order what they wanted, pizza, chicken or pasta. Once dinner arrived, we ate around the coffee table and started watching a film Tyler wanted to see on Netflix, Martin Scorcese's THE IRISHMAN.  It was just average, reminiscent of The Godfather or Good Fellas but much longer, over three hours.  We were bored and couldn't wait for it to end and by the time it finished, it was after 10:00 and time for bed.
