Life Is Good At Old Bust Head Brewery |
Yesterday was a day for most of us to relax, for Evie and me, a chance to recover from a week of living it up at Folly Beach and some long car rides. After the girls left for schoo Jill, Evie, and I decided to hit Trader Joe's, a stop we always make here in Bristow, mostly to pick up some two buck chuck and other goodies, like our favorite cheeses. So I ended up with a couple cases of wine, not being able to pass up some of the 'deals' on their wines. Our tastes our so pedestrian that we really like both the shiraz and sauvignon blanc. I guess we are wine snobs in reverse. By the time we were finished driving there and back, it was lunch time, so we skipped, thank goodness, a stop at Target and came home to eat lunch.
While we were gone, Drew made a dent in the 50 bags of mulch, spreading it around the front yard beds. So, we all ate lunch together, talked about what we might do with the rest of our day but decided to be spontaneous, plan on going out for dinner and that's it. I took a delicious nap, woke up energized, and went out with Drew, and together, we finished spreading the rest of the mulch. Inside, a local couple, friends of Jill and Drew's, painted and were now reinstalling the kitchen cabinets, a creamy white, making their kitchen look like something out of a food show. The light color really makes the room look spacious and light. When they finished, we were done with the mulch, so the four of us decided to go to Drew's favorite pub, The Old Bust Head Brewery, one of numerous buildings on the abandoned Vint Hill Army Base. We have been there a couple of times before; it's a great indoor and outdoor micro brewery, lots of choices and it had the Masters on the TV. Lots of people enjoying the afternoon. We brought along, guacamole, salsa and Tostitos and we limited ourselves to one pint a piece because we knew we were going out for dinner.

We were home around 8:00 and all of us settled down to watch the previous nights American Idol. It was the last show after 15 seasons so if you had been a fan, you were able to see many of the past winners. It was fun to watch, to see what some of the winners looked like after 10 or 15 years.
Not sure what today will bring because of the weather. Drew leaves for the Ukraine today around 6:00, for ten days, and Halle has her second volleyball game this afternoon at 3:00. It should be fun to see her play.
