Yesterday ended up being a pretty miserable day outside, with a couple of inches or more of wet snow snarling traffic, causing accidents in Lakewood, and bringing out the snow plows from hibernation. It was a bit messy yesterday morning when we drove to Clymer, but around 4:00, the snowing got worst, the roads more slushy, causing the problems. We met Ron and Linda last night at the Lakeview last night in Mayville and we were literally the only people who had ventured out that night, perhaps two others sat at the bar. The road was not bad going and much better coming home, as the snow had begun to melt. They had arrived yesterday afternoon after braving a snow storm coming up # 79 to and through Erie. Ron mentioned he saw a SUV about 150 feet off of # 86, in the woods, around Findlay Lake. Clearly, people were driving too fast.
Today, fortunately, is sunny and getting warmer, so that by the end of the day, most of the snow will have melted and they are predicting weather in the 70's by seventy so this 'may' be the last snow of the year. The lake is like glass, making me think of kayaking but I will wait a day or two. It would be fun to go down a kayak the Chadokin River in Jamestown where the rowing teams having practicing for three weeks. We have decided on a color for the walls, Buff, a warm very subtle yellow, more creamy or vanilla than yellow, a bit richer than our linen white. Now it's time to make a carpet choice. We are settled probably on a carpet with less warp, with a slight pattern, so it won't show foot or sweeper markets, though it won't be as soft.
