Partly Cloudy And 45º

Juvenile Bald Eagle

7:30

It's just about 8:00, and I have been up since 7:15, watching the birds scurry along the lake's surface. A light wind moves the flag and the lake's a sheet of gray. It's just after 9:00 and pouring out. Fortunately, I was able to kayak before the rain and photographed a juvenile bald eagle. Exciting

Kayak Morning

North

Yesterday was a good day, by that I mean I was able to get in a trifecta: kayaking, yoga, and a walk. The day started with a paddle down to Sandy Bottom on a windy morning. Melt Yoga on Mondays does not start until 10:30 so I had lots of time to get ready, unlike today, when yoga starts at 9:30, making it difficult to get in a paddle before class. Melt class was the usual, easy, like a good massage. After class, I stopped at Wegmans and picked up our dinner and a few other things Evie needed. When I returned home, the kitchen glistened as Evie had been working hard, giving it a once-over. I received a phone call around noon, from my tax guy saying my taxes were ready, bring a checkbook. For lunch, I had soup and eggplant sandwiches, so I was a happy boy. I watched the end of the Masters, then took tried to take a nap to no avail.

So around 1:30, I drove off to Jamestown, met with my tax guy, wrote out a check for his services, and moaned about how much I had to pay to the Fed and State. They laughed and told me I must be making more money, the good news and bad.  On the way home, I stopped at Farm Fresh Foods, like a bad boy, and bought donuts for dessert. They don't usually last until dessert!

When I returned, I read some and soon got bored with my life and went for a good walk around the Woodlawn/Victoria woods where just a touch a spring is beginning to show, daffodils and skunk cabbage. I was out for 35 minutes, walking on a thick bed of dry fall leaves.

We had our wine at 5:00 of course and listened to the news, turning it off when they brought on this annoying guy with a British accent. Dinner was breaded haddock and baked potatoes and we watched the last episode of The Pitt. Everyone is crazy about the show but us I guess. It doesn't even compare to ER, our favorite medical drama. Once Evie went to bed, I finished a series, Treason, then moved on to another drama. I am soon going to be running out of things to watch. I went up to bed to read and started a new Robert Crais novel, The Wanted. What a relief from Little Drummer Girl.
