When I look out the window this morning at 8:15, there's not much color. A light wind and 45º start the day for us, and it will get up into the 60s later in the day. It's 9:25 and I paddled for 25 minutes, down to the reeds and back, a boring morning on the lake.

Yesterday felt like the first day of Spring because of the sunshine and blue skies. It was amazing to wake up to a rising sun, not today's gray. It was Sunday, supposedly a day of rest but we were busy on and off, Evie prepping for our dinner, me off kayaking, biking, or helping in the kitchen. I had a great paddle, out for close to forty-five minutes. When I returned, I helped some around the house, and by 11:00, I was off riding my bike around the Chautauqua Institution for 50 minutes. The blue skies energize me so I was happy to be out biking.

I returned home to a table set and a clean kitchen as Evie had been busy.  I had veggie soup for lunch with oyster crackers, read some, napped some, and helped with cleaning up the house, vacuuming and sweeping the back porch, getting things ready for Linda and Ron. We both were able to take it easy much of the afternoon. I watched an hour of the Masters as Rory mounted a five-stroke lead, then lost it with a double bogey though he ended up winning the Masters for the first time.

Linda and Ron arrived at 6:00, our usual time, and we quickly adjourned to the living room with wine and a great brie with crackers. They are heading to Europe in a couple of weeks, spending a few days in Paris and one of Evie's best friends from high school, who gives day tours of Paris is setting up a tour for them. Pretty cool. 

Palm Sunday Dinner

Dinner was one of our favorites, lamb shanks in veggie and red wine sauce, along with breaded eggplant, topped with tomatoes and a salad. Somehow, we always have things to talk about other than Trump so it's a fun evening. They left around 8:45, earlier than usual, and Evie went up to bed, tired from a busy but fun day, and I cleaned up the kitchen and watched the final episode of A Place Of Execution on Prime Video.
