Another Sunny Morning

8:58

What a relief to wake up to the sun rather than rain and cloudy skies. It's 43º and will get up into the 50s later in the day. There's a light wind, with gusts on and off so I think I will be able to kayak. It's after 9;00 and I was lucky to get in a 25-minute paddle, as the wind picked up, making it arduous to get home.

Kayak Morning

Rough Waters Looking North

Yesterday was a dismal day until late, late afternoon when I went for a short walk after all the rain, over an inch during the day. I didn't kayak because of the wind, so we lingered over coffee since Evie does not have school on Mondays. I wanted to do something so Evie made up a shopping list and I planned on having coffee at Ryder's Cup with friends at 10:30. So I left at 9:30, got my shopping done on a quiet day at Wegmans, and made it to the coffee shop as planned. My friend Paul said he had a doctor's appointment but would be there at 10:3,0 and when I arrived, he was already there, talking to another friend. He seems to know everyone who walks in the shop so within half an hour, there were five of us sitting around a table, partially blocking the walkway. One guy was a retired police officer and town superintendent, Paul a lawyer, John an art teacher, and Dave a jack of all trades. They are all good guys, and it was fun talking to them.

The Crew At Ryder Cup

I left around 11:45, came home, and relaxed for a bit before Evie made me a couple of ham and cheese sandwiches. She had been busy finalizing the Shutterfly book and sending it off to be published. We should have it in a couple of weeks. Because it rained on and off during the afternoon, at times torrential with lightning and thunder, it was a great afternoon for a nap. Around 3:30, I was up and reading until 5:00 when the rain stopped, the sun and and I took a short walk around Victoria.

We had our wine at 5:00, listened to Jake Tapper, and by 6:00, we were both in the kitchen making a wok dinner with the leftover tenderloin and lots of veggies. We served it over rice and finished up the entire stir fry. We must have been hungry. After dinner, we noticed the amazing eastern sky, with clouds unlike any we have seen before. I took lots of photos. We then watched another episode of Friends and Neighbors and a Hometown, and some basketball before going up to bed.
