Woke to a sunrise but the clouds are invading the blue so it's becoming Chautauqua gray again, for most of the day I fear. It's windy as well, 10mph from the southeast, so I am not sure I will kayak, although it looks tempting. It's 9:00 and I just returned from a half-hour paddle and listened to a podcast that interviewed auto workers, and most are happy with Trump because they see him as doing something, and they are willing to take a financial hit. Interesting. Here's a quotation from the Wall Street Journal:
“The main lesson from Trump vs. Powell is that the central bank can’t make up for the economic policy errors of politicians.” |

Yesterday was a different day for both of us. I started out as usual on Thursday with coffee, and by 7:45, I was off to breakfast at the Ashville Country Store, a great place any time of the day. After breakfast, I was home by 9:10 and quickly got ready to kayak. I was out on a sunny morning for forty-five minutes, enjoying the placid lake and blue skies, quite a contrast to the previous snowy days. I then took a walk through Victoria to see how the sewers were coming along. They were putting in the grinders and the concrete electrical units every two homes, and will probably be in our neighborhood next week.

We decided to drive to Erie and look at bathroom tiles, floors and vanities. It took us 45 minutes to reach our destination, a Kitchen And Bath place called ProSource on Peninsula Drive. It was a good choice because we had a guy take us through all the various products we will need, from tiles, to floors, to vanities to accessories and gave us a rough estimate of each. Still, we have to pick things out, and that's the rub. After shopping, we stopped at a Chick-fil-A for a meal, a good choice. We didn't get home until 2:30 and both of us were tired, so I read and napped and Evie watched her some tv.
Around 4:00, Evie put together our dinner, a pasta sauce with airfried eggplant and mushrooms and then relaxed with me at 5:00 with a glass of wine, a nice end to a busy day.
Note: Between 2025 and 2027, China was supposed to receive 179 Boeing planes. Because of Trump's tariffs, all those orders have been cancelled. Thank you, Donald Trump, Make America Great Again!
