I woke a couple of times last night to rain, some fierce that I thought I was living next to a river. Then I got up, checked the rain gauge, and there was hardly an eighth of an inch, although there were puddles everywhere. Since I woke, there was a brief respite, but it has started up again so I doubt if I will kayak. It's 9:30 and I did get out for a paddle for 25 minutes. Just as I was heading up, a light drizzle began to fall so it was perfect timing.

Friday was amazing, the first day when I thought, yep, Spring is here and Summer is coming. For the first time this year, many people were in shorts, many out walking and enjoying the warm, 70º weather. I began the day as usual, up at 7:15, had my coffee, and went out for a paddle on what I thought might be a windy day, but it wasn't bad. When I returned, I finished the blog and wanted to go to Ryders Cup and meet up with a couple of friends. Evie made up a list for me at Wegmans, and I enjoyed coffee by 10:00 in a busy Ryder Cup. I then drove into Jamestown and returned some flooring we borrowed to a Kitchen and Bath store, then did some easy shopping at Wegmans. Fridays are usually good days.
When I returned home, Evie was working on a Shutterfly book of last summer, so I read some, then had a chicken salad hoagie from Wegmans and watched another episode of my show. I finished my Robert Crais novel and couldn't wait to nap because Evie had changed the sheets. Around 3:30, I was bored, so I went outside and decided to get some Spring yard work done and picked up a garbage pail of downfall and took it up the hill to the wood pile. Evie was busy on my computer when I came in, so I sat out in the side yard, warming by the afternoon sun, and made a call to an old friend, Mac, from Reserve, who lives in Woodstock, VT. I talked with him for over forty-five minutes, and it was great, lots of good memories, stories about our teaching, and a list of our aches and pains. He joins me and turns 81 today.
For dinner, we had baked potatoes, mushrooms, and Evie grilled a couple of New York strips for dinner and they were done perfectlyl. We finally settled on a new series on Netflix, The Glass Dome and we would give it a C, something to watch if you cannot find anything else.
