Effingham Bound

6:40
We are both up early as we want to be off on our road trip by 7:00.  We are stopping in Effingham, IL, our usual stop when we head to our son Tom's home in Lee's Summit, a suburb of Kansas City.  Our drive should be fine, cold weather and a few snow flurries but nothing serious...we hope.

We Got Mail
Yesterday was typical, getting ready, packing up, then unpacking because you think you are taking too much then putting the stuff back in the suitcase, just in case.  I was organized enough so that I could go to yoga where we spent a good part of a class on our feet, stretching our toes in various directions, massaging our feet bottoms with a tennis ball.  It felt good and I discovered my feet or at least paid attention to them for twenty minutes.  After class, I stopped for coffee, said aloha for a couple of weeks to Joyce and Dave then drove downtown to pick up my taxes.  I have them done because it's easier and I don't have to worry about forgetting something.  The best part, we are one of those citizens who received an increase in our returns, both state and federal.  Maybe I will get the new Mac Air.

Afternoon Light
Lunch was avocado toast and soup and another Ray Donovan.  It's a weak fifth year for the series and I may just skip ahead to Season Six.  It was too cold to do much outside and both of us were bored for a good part of the afternoon, having finished packing and getting the house ready for our return.  We should have left yesterday because the afternoon was a waste, a holding action until this morning.

Woodlawn at 5:00
We had our wine before Evie put together our dinner, or rather a breakfast, home fries, eggs, and, of course, a salad.  We were able to use up the potatoes, onions and eggs so it was not only good but a frugal breakfast/dinner.  We watched the usual shows, nothing exciting as we did not feel like a movie or starting a new series.  We both went to bed early because we wanted to be up and at em by 5:45.
