It's about 7:00, Nick's off to school already, for pictures of his basketball team and then will probably come home as he has been sick with the flu. It's overcast here in Kansas City (no blue skies and sun yet), with the high in the 60's later in the day.
We were at Claire's in Scottsdale till about 10:00 yesterday, drove over to say good by to Dot, then to Jean's to say good by to her and Jennifer and family. Claire then drove us to the airport, giving us plenty of time before our flight. Evie likes to get there early, so we just relaxed, had something to eat, and read until our flight. It was another easy and smooth flight for the most part and we got in early, about two and half hours from Scottsdale to Kansas City. Tom picked us up, overcast skies, and we got home about six to hugs from Marlena, who missed us.
Tom and Mary had dinner ready, salmon and rice, just what we needed after a day of travel. We caught up on all the news, spent the evening with the kids, watching football, and talking about our week in Scottsdale. Of course, Tom and Marlena were sad, especially Marlena, that she could not have been there to see all her cousins. We went to bed around 10:30.
Today, we will just relax, get in a walk with Bella, pick up my Honda at the dealer, and get things organized for our long ride home tomorrow. Nick is still not feeling up to snuff, so he will be home today and Marlena does not get home till 4:20. Then, the fun begins.
