Heading Back to the Lake

Relaxing with Our IPADS  or IPhones after Dinner

Mary and Tom
It's 5:30 here in KC, 6:30 in Chautauqua, and we are sitting up in Tommy's living room, having our coffee, watching Morning Joe, and getting ready to head east to the lake.  it's pitch black outside, of course, 44 degrees here and it looks like Chautauqua will be getting some snow today.  Our travels should be fine, no snow or rain all the way to Ohio. It's been a great two weeks but we are ready to get home, to our home, lake, bed, routine, etc.

We took it easy yesterday, as neither of us felt one hundred per cent, either from the traveling, lack of sleep, too much fun, or we are coming down with something.  We hope it's not the latter.  Nick stayed home from school, as he still was not feeling great.  Evie and I went off and bought  the makings for dinner at Hy Vee, Tom's favorite, lemon chicken, rice, salad, and garlic spinach.  We always make it when we come to KC.  We also picked up Nick some noodles at a fast food Noodle shop, near by.  Nick and I watched Chariots of Fire, from 1979, a movie I remember loving and it won Academy award.  It was still quite good, great photography, memorable music, if a bit slow, perhaps since we are so used to non stop action flicks.

Later, I went to shopping, to gas up, pick up some cash, and do a little shopping, which means none.  We packed yesterday afternoon, so we wouldn't have to worry about it in the morning.  I also took Bella out for a walk since it was such a nice day here in Kansas City.  When Marlena got home, she did her homework and then we all went down to their TV room to watch an oldie but goodies, Airplane, still fun and laugh making for all ages.  Dinner was great, and even Nick was able to eat something.  After dinner, we sat around, watching TV and everyone was either playing Scramble or Word with Friends, or Hanging with Friends,  either with Evie or her sisters, or some of the cousins.  These IPADS and games  certainly change the dynamics of after dinner socializing.
