Up just about 6:00 to a quiet lake, almost no action, no ski boats, no fishing boats, as all are asleep, waiting for the heat to come later today and tomorrow. It's 66 degrees right now but supposed to go up to the high 80's later in the day. We did get 2/10ths of an inch of rain last night, which we need though today is supposed to be sunny, with no rain forecast. We'll see. I just got back from a 45 minute kayak paddle, on a motionless lake, like a mirror, overcast and foggy when I started but the sun and blue skies off to the west broke through as I paddled home. A beautiful morning to be out on the lake, few fishermen, no waves, no wind, just me and the lake.
Yesterday, we worked mostly inside, sat on the porch and watched it pour, off and on during the morning, the first time in quite awhile we did this, and relaxed most of the afternoon, though Evie went to the store, to print a couple more pictures for the 2011 Summer Album and pick up a few more goodies as our grandson, Mitch arrives tomorrow, and we want to make it special for him. He's been texting Evie each day, saying' three more days, two more days,' etc. It's nice to know he's excited as well. We have been making a list of fun things to do with him, picking out movies he might like, getting his bedroom all set, all the things you do before company comes.
BLT's for dinner and two more episodes of Breaking Bad. Walt continues to stonewall his wife, upsetting her, forcing her to react in a similar way. Jesse takes over the sales of the meth, has one of his runners ripped off, and Walt gives him a gun and tells him to take care of it or he will be pushed around by everyone. We see basically two nice guys slowly sucked into the underworld, into crime, into violence, the whole world of drugs. One wonders how deep it will get, if they can ever get out? Jesse is increasingly becoming a major player in the series, as if the writers have begun to see his potential as a main character, not a supporting role. He's pathetic as he's thrown out of his house by his parents, out of his aunt's house as well, and cannot find a friend to put him up for a night. Only Walt seems to show him some sympathy, reluctantly, but it's the beginning of a bond between the two.
