It's 8:15 and I was out on the lake by 7:00, paddled for an hour, happy and refreshed by my time on the lake. I'm so fortunate to be able to kayak most mornings, usually alone like today, especially on spectacular mornings like today. I missed a heron but photographed both wood ducks and an osprey. I changed my route, paddling north on Woodlawn, across to Long Point, then back across to Sandy Bottom and home.

Yesterday was a typical Tuesday with yoga for me, school for Evie. I got in a brief paddle before the blog and breakfast and was on my way to yoga by 9:10. Class on Tuesdays is always different, at times I don't like it much, but yesterday was fine, though rigorous. Courtney, my yoga teacher, lived in Hawaii back in the 2000s, so it's fun to reminisce with her about Hawaii Nei. After class, I drove over to Chautauqua Brick to talk with the cabinet guy, Larry, and see if he had any new ideas for keeping our kitchen drawers from failing. I left with new braces and an idea for making them more sturdy. We will have to see if it's feasible. I then drove to Mayville, stopping at Chatuauqua Ironworks, to inquire about getting an aluminum ladder for our new end piece, and Eric is going to check on it. I ended my morning getting a sub for lunch at the Lighthouse Grocery. I had a half for lunch and watched my show, Joe Pickett, not my favorite, but it's something to watch. I am also reading a new book that I am not crazy about, Stephen Spotswood's Fortune Favors the Dead. I keep thinking I will start something else, but I'm staying with it.
Because it was such a beautiful, sunny afternoon, I opened all the windows in our upstairs bedrooms and read and then napped. When I woke, Evie was still not home, so I did some work outside, filling in some of the bare spots in our driveway and parking area with stones. Around 3:30, Evie arrived later than usual because she stayed in school longer than usual to help out the substitute, and she shopped at Wegmans. I also used my sledge on the poles that I anchor my boat to and bailed out our rowboat. It had at least four inches of water in its bottom.

By 5:00, Evie was on a Zoom call with her sisters and a meatloaf in the oven, baking for our dinner. I read and watched some TV until the Zoom call was over, then joined Evie for a glass of wine and listened to the news. We loved our dinner, meatloaf with lots of ketchup, broccoli, and french fries. We started a Swedish film called We Are The Best but had enough of teen chatter after 20 minutes and went to a couple of episodes of Colbert.

Just before Evie went up to bed, we noticed the amazing sky and took numerous photos of it. I watched the last half of the Cavs' disgusting loss to the Pacers, having literally given away the game towards the end. I ended the night with some of the Golden State/Timberwolves game.
