Mostly Cloudy With High In 60s

8:10

It's 8:15 and I was out paddling for forty minutes, my usual route and I saw hardly any wildlife for some reason, no buffleheads, no mallards, etc.

Into The Sun

Yesterday was a busy day for both of us and we felt good having got a few things done. Neither of us had anything we had to do, no yoga, no school. So after coffee and the blog, I left to get a few things at Home Depot and Harbor Freight and came home with a three-pack of sponges. We wanted milky spore for our lawn but Home Depot had never heard of it, and Mike's had a 13-oz bag for sixty-four bucks. We will go without it this spring.

A Happy Cardinal Couple

I returned just after 11:00, and Evie suggested washing the front windows. So I spent half hour, scrubbing, squeegeeing, and finally drying the windows with newspaper. For lunch, I heated up a chicken pot pie, easy and filling. I took a brief nap while Evie went outside and began mowing the lawn, stopping a few times because of a shower. Just as she was finishing, it poured and she had to stop. Late afternoon, it took me five minutes to finish the mowing. It was great to have Evie back mowing the lawn, a fixture at the lake for forty years, making me the envy of the neighborhood.

We had our usual glass of wine, listened to the news, as it drizzled and cleared up although we did get an inch of rain in the past 24 hours. Around 6:00, Evie made us taco salads with ground beef, taco shells, corn, black beans, lettuce, tomatoes, and sour cream. Instead of going out to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, we stayed home, saved sixty bucks, and had our Mexican dinner. We watched another episode of The Tourist, then some of the usual, before Evie went up to bed, and I watched the Knicks upset the Celtics in Boston, ending the night.
