It's 9:10, and I started this, although I was up before 7:00 along with Evie. I went for a fifty-minute paddle at 8:00 on a flawless lake. There was hardly a ripple, and the docks were starting to appear on the lake along with ours.

Yesterday was an interesting and busy day. Evie was up early because of kindergarten and I was out on the lake at 7:00 for a half hour before going to breakfast in Bemus at 8:00. When I returned, we finished up the blog and Evie left for school at 9:30. I made up my mind to skip yoga because it was a decent morning and I drove over to Bemus with my bike. I rode through Bemus, down Lakeside Drive to Long Point State Park, then out to Long Point and back to my car. I was out for over an hour, and it was a good morning for a bike ride, not too hot, trails were dry, and there was little traffic on the roads.

I wasn't home until 12:30 and was hungry, so I heated up a bowl of cauliflower/sweet potato soup and fried a hot dog. I wrapped a slice of bread around the dog, enjoyed my soup, and watched my show, Joe Pickett. As I was enjoying my lunch, I noticed my dock guys were finishing putting in my neighbor's dock and were beginning to put ours in. Surprise. They were a gang of maybe seven guys, most in wetsuits because the water is still cold. It took a while to get mine in because of new stanchions and dock pieces. They also put in a third neighbor's dock and finished up with all three by 3:30, exhausted and cold.

Just after they left, the dark clouds appeared, and we had heavy rain, thunder, and lightning on and off for the rest of the afternoon and early evening. We ended with a half-inch of rain this morning. We had our wine at 5:00, and earlier, Evie had put together a mushroom pasta sauce for our dinner. At 6:30, the noodles were ready for the sauce, and a salad was made. The pasta was great because the two of us were really hungry. We started The Righteous Gemstones but didn't much like it so we switched to a Colbert and a home improvement show.  After Evie went up to bed, I watched some basketball and my series, Joe Pickett, until 10:00.
