Another Blue Sky And Sunny Morning

7:53

9:08

It's 8:30 and I have been up for an hour, sitting in the corner of our living room to avoid the bright sun. In the distance, I can hear an excavator working on putting in the sewer lines around Pine Hill. They have yet to get to our yard.

Yesterday was a typical Sunday. We enjoyed a pot of coffee, listened to the Sunday news programs, and planned out our day which included a Sunday dinner with our friends, Linda and Ron. It always involves some tidying up and prepping for dinner but we had all day so it's not a problem

Around 11:30, I drove into Mayville, to Tops to pick up a few things for dinner and when I returned, I had the leftover eggplant parmesan for lunch.  We were able to relax most of the afternoon and I got in my usual nap. Earlier, Evie had brined a rack of pork and by 4:00, it was ready to be put in the oven. She already had the shrimp cocktails ready for an appetizer, so we had no fuss when Ron and Linda arrived. They came bearing a couple bottles of wine, which we shared with the shrimp. We commented on how strange it was to have a happy hour in daylight,  on the first day of Day Light Savings Time.

Sunday Dinner

Around 7:30, I cut the rack of pork into chops and brought them to the table. We helped ourselves to chops,  five cheese pasta, and a salad. Along with a nice bottle of red wine, we enjoyed our dinner. We seem to talk too much about politics to no avail, so we spent most of our time discussing the upcoming short trips for both of us. For dessert, we had strawberry/rhubarb pie from Portage Pie with vanilla ice cream, a nice end to our dinner. They left around 9:00 and Evie went up to bed while I cleaned up the kitchen, then watched some of the Cavs game before bed.
