A Bright Shiny Morning

8:20

9:44

Even though I woke at 8:00, yesterday's 7:00, I feel good. Evie's up as well and it's after 9:00 and we are listening to Republicans suck up to Trump or avoid the question on CNN.

Saturday was typical, nothing special, just another day. We were up at 8:00, watching the birds attack the bird feeder, enjoying a casual Saturday morning coffee, and listening to Michael Smerconish. Our days don't change much. Once we got going, Evie made up a shopping list for me and we started gathering the trash and cleaning out the refrigerator for the Transfer Station. By 10:30, I was on my way to the Transfer Station, then to Wegmans. I don't mind doing these small trips, mostly because I get tired of sitting around the house, especially in the winter. Wegmans was busy but I was able to zip through the aisles and find a few things, like mini chocolate chips, after a couple of minutes of browsing  By the way, they are midway down Aisle 15, on the top shelf. Just make sure you get the minis, not the regular. On my way home, I filled up the Outback and gas has dropped a bit, to 3.39 a gallon,

When I returned, Evie had been busy prepping a few things for tonight's Sunday night dinner with Ron and Linda, a tradition that started during COVID-19. Once everything was put away, Evie suggested BLTS for lunch. Yum. I watched some basketball, enjoying Evie's soup and sandwiches. By 1:30, I was happily reading my book, Lullaby Town, by one of my favorite writers, Robert Crais. Following PI Elvis Cole and enforcer Joe Pike is fun. I napped, too, and Evie was ensconced in the TV room watching The Crown after finishing up in the kitchen.

Hiker and Biker Tracks

Around 4:00, I thought about walking and following my new dictum, just do it,  I got up, put on my hiking shoes, jumped in the car and drove over to the end of Lakeside Drive and walked Long Point State Park. It was icy in some areas but I was careful. following fat tire bike tracks, and was out for forty five minutes. It felt good to be out there, the only one in the woods as usual.

Lots Of Tracks And Ice

Bambis In The Woods

I was home at 5:00, in time to enjoy a glass of wine with Evie and listen to NPR. Earlier, Evie had breaded and airfried eggplant, added it to tomato sauce, then boiled up some spaghetti noodles for our dinner. It was great. We watched another episode of Paradise although we are losing interest in the show, then finished the night with a couple of episodes of The Resident, decent but not great. Once Evie went up to bed, I watched the first half of the  Celtics/Lakers game before going up to bed.
