2020 Ends In Gray

7:59

Because of yesterday's rain, much of the snow has melted in the front yard and the lake is now open, at least in front of our house. We did get a dusting of snow last night and the temperature has dropped to 29º on this winter ugly morning.

Yesterday was not much of a day for me, as I was tired and achy for some reason, wanting to do nothing but stay on the couch, read and slept.  So that's what I did most of the day, with no kayaking or hiking, just wasting the day. Evie, however, took over and did the shopping, picking up groceries via Instacart at Wegman's, making sure we have enough staples for the rest of the week.

When she returned home, I had enough energy to help bring the groceries in the house before returning to the couch.  Lunch tasted good, an omelet with tomatoes and feta cheese and toast, and I watched my show before taking a good, long nap, something I obviously needed.

Neither of us did anything of note the rest of the afternoon, just reading and watching an older film we have seen a couple of times before, The China Syndrome, with Jack Lemmon and Jane Fonda.  It holds up well.

We had the leftover Thai chicken, rice, broccoli, and salad for dinner and it was just as tasty as the night before.  We watched the second episode of Your Honor on Showtime, with Bryan Cranston and now understand why Michael Smerconish said he might stop watching the series.  We switched channels halfway through because it was so depressing, too real, with nothing uplifting.  We switched to Schitt's' Creek, much better, lots of laughs, and ended the night with the first episode of Season Two of Deadwood.
