I woke this morning to a pink sky, a sunrise, and took a forty-five-minute paddle into the sun's reflection on the lake. What a delight to wake up to a blue sky, sunshine, and a calm lake. Today is supposed to be sunny, with a high in the 40s, a perfect day for a long hike. I paddled to the new Taylor Swift album going, Megan Thee Stallions rap going home. Quite a contrast!

Thursday was a mostly good day, as I did get in a paddle and Evie did not have too much that she had to do so we could really enjoy the day. So after getting a few things done, kayaking, breakfast and the blog, we finally decided on walking the Chautauqua Institution even though we had already walked it on Sunday. It was a good choice and we wound our way around the entire grounds, totaling over three miles so we felt good when we went home for lunch.

Lunch was turkey soup and a sandwich, turkey of course, as we were finishing up turkey week at our house, After lunch, I read more of my Jack Reacher novel, briefly napped but by 3:00, I was off to my friend Jack's farm, to enjoy a brew with friends. We sat out on Jack's patio, safely distanced, with winter coats, stocking caps, and gloves, and enjoyed each other's company until 5:00 when it was starting to get cold and the sky out over Lake Erie was spectacular.

When I returned home, Evie had dinner made, a shepherd's pie made with turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and veggies, at the suggestion of Evie's sister Jean. It tasted great, just like a turkey dinner, just layered. And it's the last of our second Thanksgiving dinner. We watched Colbert, his intereview with Megan Thee Stallion, which is why I listened to her music this morning. It will probably be the last time, too, We ended the night with Hulu's Little Fires Everywhere, based on the novel by Celeste Ng which I read a few years ago but hardly remember. It's set in Shaker Heights, a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio, which is fun because we both grew up in the Cleveland area. We watched two episodes (out of eight) and liked it so we now have something to watch for the next few nights.
