Yesterday's yoga was a first, four guys and a gal. Not sure where all the gals were but we had a good class with Jen. After class, I stopped for coffee, picked up some fresh eggs, then picked up a few things from Wegman's, so we are prepared for our road trip and return. When I got home, Evie was busy prepping for our families visit in ten days, making a huge batch of sloppy joe's, to be frozen and used for lunches.
And it was an easy lunch for me, just steal some of the sloppy joe's and slap them on a couple of buns with a dill pickle. I was not sure what to watch during lunch, not wanting to start a series because I won't be able to stick with it for a couple of weeks, so I watched the first episode of House Of Cards, just to see what I thought of it. It was great, setting up everything, so much better than this past season of confusion. But, then, that's the way many series go...a great start before they begin to lose direction, then often find it again. I know it was that way with MAD MEN. We almost stopped watching it at times but stayed with it because it would suddenly get good again.
The rest of the afternoon until 4:30, we would get something done, then relax, either reading or watching some TV until the heat and humidity got to us and we went out on the dock. It was not much better because there was little wind, just heat and humidity. I solved the problem by jumping in the lake occasionally to cool off. By 6:00, we had enough and went inside and sat on the porch for awhile with a glass of wine and chips and dip. It was much cooler on the porch, with the fan, so we sat there until 7:00 or later. Dinner was already made, the leftover chicken, mashed potatoes, and broccoli. All Evie had to do was pop it in the oven and make a salad. We watched some Vice News and Stephen Colbert, along with channel surfing between the big three, CNN, MSNBC, and FOX. By 10:00, we had enough and went up to bed.
