"Once More To The Lake"

Almost Home To  Chautauqua
7:24
7:34
It's 7:20 and I have been up since 5:45 and a tip of the sun is just starting to rise just to the left of Tom's Point, over Bemus.  It's amazing how far south the sunrise has moved in just a week or I have just not been paying attention.  I have breakfast at 8:00 with the guys at the Bemus Point Inn so I better get this finished

We drove from Columbus to the lake yesterday, about six hours, easy but boring.  It was foggy for the first hour, a good thing we left later in the morning than usual.  We had our required stop at Trader Joe's on Chagrin Boulevard, just off of #271, picking up the usual, ribs, bacon, cheese, and wine.  We are set for the winter!  We drove into our driveway just about 3:00, to a warm, sunny, calm lake.  It's been like this the last week according to our neighbors.  We unpacked quickly because Evie wanted to get out on the dock, to enjoy the sun and beautiful late afternoon.  We were both out on our deck chairs by 4:00, reading and happy to be home again, as always.  We love to travel, to visit our kids and grandchildren but it is always good to be home.
Ballooning Over Chautauqua
Landing?
Around 5:00, we sat outside with our neighbors, the Leonards, with a glass of wine as they filled us in on what had happened while we were gone. Not much, just leaves falling, sunshining, the grass growing.  For dinner, we had one of favorites from Trader Joe's, their precooked ribs, so all Evie had to do was heat them.  Along with coleslaw and baked potatoes, we had a great dinner.  We were excited to use our new dishes, made in Turkey by the way, and silverware.  It was strange to be home, in our TV room, eating alone, without Tom and Mary and their family.  We got up on some of our shows, the first episode of the last season of Parenthood, as well as The Good Wife, and this episode was written by a former student of mine, Ted Humphrey.  I am reading another Robert Crais  novel, featuring Elvis Cole and Joe Pike, an easy, fun read.
