Halle was the first one up this morning, and we sat and looked at pictures from last year's album, then some from this year on my computer. Now they are all up, with the exception of Hayden, so I have to sign off and the day begins.
It's 5:30 and we have been back from the Gorge for about an hour; the girls and Evie went from the car almost immediately to the lake to swim, as did the boys. Jill, Beth, and Mary went off to the store, to buy food for the next couple of days, hit he Ashville Country Store for lunch, then on to Weggies and Kmart. We beat them home by about an hour, of course. The Gorge was beautiful, sunny, even warm, but refreshing to swim in, cold at first, then great. A number of families had the same idea, as it was the perfect day to hike and swim. We stayed there for about two hours, hiking, looking for crayfish and frogs, and swimming. On the way home, we hit Boxcar Barney's for ice cream cones, a stand just this side of Mayville. Today, it's salmon and spinach, roasted potatoes, and scallops for an appetizer. It does not get much better than that. It's 79 out, beginning to cloud up, and rain is expected tonight and tomorrow during the day. Everyone seems exhausted from the day, of hiking or shopping, and even Evie said she's tired, wondering how she will make it to the night time.
