It's a bit chilly out there and the birds are frantically attacking the bird feeder. I see one tent out on the lake but it has been there for a few days so no ice fishermen are out at the moment. Oops, I just looked south and two guys are pulling a sled out from Victoria. We have had flurries since I woke at 7:40 and I will be out there shoveling five or six inches of snow shortly.

Yesterday was a day of waiting, until 6:30 when the Bills played the Ravens. Until then, we had a fairly typical Sunday. We were up late, around 8:00 for me, 8:30 for Evie and we were in no hurry to get busy. In fact, we were hardly busy all day. I wanted to get in some exercise so around 11:00, I drove to the Chautauqua Institution and walked for about forty-five minutes on icy roads. I did stop for a few minutes at the bookstore and picked up some earrings for Evie. Her kindergarten class loves her earrings so I thought they would enjoy a new pair. When I finished, I drove to Tops to pick up a few groceries. While I was gone our neighbor's grandson stopped by to see Evie and get his winter pick from the treasure chest.

I was home by 12:30 in time for Evie to make me avocado toast with an egg. We both did little the rest of the afternoon. Evie watched some TV and I read and napped then watched most of the Eagle's defeat of the Rams. By 6:30, when the Buffalo game started, Evie had already put together our dinner, scalloped potatoes and ham. I was hungry and had a couple of helpings it tasted so good. It's hard to watch a game that you care about because you are so nervous, Evie was tempted to leave the TV room a couple of times. The Bills lucked out and pulled out a win, 27-25 and will fly to Kansas City next week for another game with the Chiefs. We will have mixed emotions that day because we root for both teams.
Today will be another no-TV news day for me but not for Evie.
