It's 6:30 but I have been up since before 5:00, unable to get back to sleep. It's not a good start to the day. It's a fine morning, gray clouds and pink sky and a lake like a mirror. It's 60º and should be a nice day. I am back from breakfast and was able to get in a paddle before driving off to Bemus and I shot a couple of good photographs of an osprey, who seems to be hanging out in the trees above the reeds every morning,.

Yesterday started out with a bang for me, up early, a good paddle, then a swim, all before breakfast and writing the blog. I then went to a good yoga class, just three of us before going to Wegman's for a quick run-through, picking up a few items. I was home in time for a lunch of quesadillas, with black beans and cheese. I watched my show, then read my David Silva thriller and napped briefly. Evie had a doctor's appointment so she was off early afternoon but was back by 2:30. We then wasted the rest of the afternoon, neither of us wanting to go out on the dock or swim but preferred sitting around reading, then talking with our neighbors for a half-hour, and watching some of the breaking news. The day that started with a bang ended with a whimper.

Purple Dahlia With A Yellow Bulls Eye |
By 5:00, it was time to get ready to go to dinner at the Viking Club. We met Ron and Linda there at 6;30 and were able to find a table outside, with a great view of the lake and the early evening sky. We had not seen them in a few weeks so we had a lot to catch up on. The Club was quite busy so we ordered our burgers right away so we would not have to wait too long. It was a good night to be out, good friends, a busy club and a beautiful sky. Of course, we also have that at home but it's nice to get out once in a while. We were home in time to watch a Colbert before going upstairs to read and hopefully, fall asleep.
