40's In Virginia

Finally, A Family Selfie
Carpool Karaoke With Halle
It's 7:30 and Drew and I have been up since before 6:00.  He's working at home this morning so he has avoided the 5:00 drive into DC.  It's chilly out on the porch so we both are sitting inside, working on our computers, enjoying a couple of cups of coffee as the rest of the gang sleep in.  And we were watching the continual coverage of Trump in London, reminding us of a remake of the Beverly Hillbillies.

Yesterday was a waiting day for us, waiting for Drew and Jill to get home from work.  In other words, there was little we had to do other than hang out since Halle was in school, Hayden at graduation practice.  We did, however, have plans for late morning, our traditional pilgrimage to stock up on items from Trader Joe's, about a twenty-minute drive.  Halle, luckily, was able to leave school early so we picked her up and took her with us.  We were able to fill our cart and empty my wallet in 20 minutes.  TJ has a new organic Charles Shaw wine so we had to buy a case of it as it was highly recommended.

On the way home, we stopped at Halle's favorite fast food drive through, Chick Fil A and picked up lunch for Hayden as well as Halle. We were home by 12:30, had our lunch, then Halle went over to a friends house.  Hayden was sleeping, exhausted from the previous night's sleep in.  And I was ready to get back to my book, take a nap so Evie decided to go back to TJ Maxx, without me bugging her that it was time to go.  Everyone started returning around 3:30, Drew from work, Evie from TJ's and Jill, finally, with Halle around 5:30.  We were going out for dinner but wanted to relax so we opened a bottle of organic Chardonnay from Trader Joe's and we really enjoyed it, a good buy.

We left for Aka Sushi, about ten minutes away in the shopping center.  We easily found a table, much easier than picking out our dinner.  After much ado, we ordered and 15 minutes later, we had two boats of great looking and tasting sushi.

Two Sushi Boats And Us
Everyone likes sushi, even the girls, and we were hungry so we dug in, trying the various rolls.  Our hunger, however, was not enough to finish the boats so we were able to take home a heavy doggie bag of sushi.  We didn't get home until 8:45 and we quickly plopped down in front of the TV and occasionally watched the hockey game as we were mostly focused on our devices.  As Hayden left for an overnight, the rest of us went to bed, tired from getting up early, our day.
