Back to Lake Chautauqua For A Couple Of Weeks

Mitch Dressed Up For Game Day

Marisa Ready For School

Mitch at State Tournament
We are up early, at 5:00 as we want to be on the road by 6:00 if not before to avoid traffic.  It looks like a good day for a drive,  the skies pink/orange off behind the trees and no rain is forecast.  So it's on to Interstate # 86, via Danbury and Interstate #84, then on through Middleton, Binghamton, Corning, Olean, Jamestown, then home.

Yesterday was another relaxing day, with little if anything we had to do, just what we wanted to do.  Tyler went off to Six Flags with buddies for the day, Mitch and Marisa were at school, so we hung out in the morning, then Evie and I went shopping for a few birthday presents and, most importantly, more gifts for the Treasure Chest.  We spent over a hundred bucks at Pier One, believe it, on trinkets so that the chest will be full this summer for our grandchildren.  That's a store that has practically everything that you don't need but might want some day.
A Pensive Marisa

Early afternoon, I read, watched some of last night's NBA game, not too exciting, and took a nap. At 3:00, Marisa arrived home, happy as usual, and we left for Mitch's volleyball game around 3:45.  It took almost an hour to get to the game in Woodbridge because traffic on the Merritt was so heavy.  Although Mitchell did not get to play because he is a freshmen, the games were exciting and we have gotten to know a number of the parents and kids from our last trip here, so it was fun to watch.  Unfortunately, their season ended with a loss, in five games, the last game 15-10.  They did not quite play their best, which is why they lost.  We did not get home till about 7:45.  Beth ordered Chinese and Marisa and I took our nightly walk with Cody up the hill till the food arrived.  Mitch got home about  8:20, just in time to have dinner with us.  He does not seem too down from the loss, perhaps because he's a freshmen and did not get to play.  Next year it will be his turn, as setter, because this year's setter graduates though they will have their two best hitters back and could be a much stronger team.
