AAUW Fair at JCC
An exceptional sunrise, clear skies, unseasonably warm. 53 degrees with a high in the 60's, perhaps even higher.  I just walked outside with just a sweat shirt and it felt warm enough, no need for a jacket. We hope to get out on the lake sooner rather than later, for a paddle, before the winds pick up.  I just looked up and their are two kayaks out on the lake already.  Good for them.

Yesterday was wet most of the morning, but it cleared up by 1:00 and became a sunny day.  Because of the rain, we decided to go to the AAUW Fair at Jamestown Community College, a mixture of vendors, mostly like a flea market, with lots of jewelery, pottery, handmade items, as well as food stuffs, things like that.  There was not much there that we wanted but we wanted to support the efforts to raise scholarships for young women.  It was fairly crowded, open till 5:00 and continues today.  The vendors were all congenial, anxious to talk about their products, especially those they made.  We almost bought a piece of pottery but the last thing we need is another bowl.  We stopped at Sam's on the way home, to return some things, then went home to relax for the afternoon.  We should have gone for a walk but neither one of us had much energy, so Evie wrapped some presents for our friends, the Armontrouts' new granddaughter.

At 6:00, the Mc Clures came over (who else) and we went off to our club, The Rod and Gun, for the prime rib dinner or, for the ladies, salmon.  This has been our modus operandi the last couple of months, to come to the Rod and Gun on Saturday, have a few beers at the bar, gamble a bit, then off to the dining room for our 'beef.'  We usually sit around long enough to hear the first two or three songs from the band.  They start at 9:00 and I always enjoy listening to them, to see what they sound like and, of course, to watch the couples get up and dance.  Last night's band had a country flavor, so many of the diners were up doing country line dances.  They looked like they were having a great time.  We left about 9:30, a mild night with stars dancing in the sky.  The Mc Clures are off to Cooperstown tomorrow, and we will be in Euclid today and tomorrow for my father in law's Mass.
