I was surprised when I woke at 7:00, to see a clear sky, a whisper of light blue, the dark sky slowly lightening. The lake is snow covered, as is the lawn, so there's not a lot of color, just those of winter, the white snow, the fingers and trunks of dark trees. A slight wind, they are predicting much more severe weather later today, during the commuting hour, 2-4 inches of snow and heavy winds. A good time to be home, off the roads.

With Linda Mc Clure at the Seezurh House |
Yesterday, Evie and I went to Long Point, to snow shoe or hike the trails. It was the morning after the storm and heavy winds, so we were not sure what the trails would be like. Too wet or to slick but they ended up being snow covered, just fine. We were the first to be in the woods, which was neat, the snowy trails untouched, except for branches that the wind had blown down. And, to our surprise, at least five trees had fallen, blocking the trails at time, most around a foot in diameter, one probably two feet, so the wind must have been really heavy and severe sweeping off the lake towards the Long Point Woods. The temperature was in the 20's but it was comfortable until we hit the shoreline, when the cold winter burned our faces. We walked out to the tip of Long Point, where the water, to my surprise, was still open though the rest of the lake seemed snow covered and frozen.

With Ron Mc Clure at the Seezurh House |
Most of the afternoon, we spent relaxing, reading, getting ready to go out with our friends, the Mc Clures who were driving up from Pittsburgh for a few days. We went to the Seezurh House, our favorite spot, with its rib eye for 10.00, with fixings, a real deal. Both Ron and I, however, got the chili cheddar burger with grilled onions, the gals got he steaks. It was fun to see them, catch up on our holiday travels, and plan for the next few days. The Seezurh was not very crowded, to our dismay, as we like to see it packed with people.
