Tuesday afternoon thaw, 50 degrees out |
Like many towns around the US, we had unseasonably warm weather yesterday, highs in the 50's. thunderstorms last night, high winds, perhaps up to 60 mph, and cold temperatures this morning, around 22 when I woke up about 7:15. We had some sleet last night before we went to bed, then it snowed 4 inches over night, so we have a frozen lake once again, a white yard, with more snow to come according to the weather report. A few more inches of snow is expected this morning, then it calms down for awhile, though light snow is forecast for the next few days but no big storms.
Yesterday was a shopping day, as Evie went off to the YMCA, to work out, and I went to Ryders' Coffee shop and bookstore in Lakewood, to read and wait. I picked her up, and we went to Wegman's for our biweekly shopping spree. For some reason, we cannot make it through the week with one trip; we always need to go back for something though the Lighthouse grocery often fits our needs, especially if it involves meat. We like to give them our business.

An easy day yesterday, no cooking to speak of, left over meat loaf and mashed potatoes for dinner, lots of wind and dire weather reports, made for an uneasy night. We watched the third hour of Downton Abbey before going to bed. I continue to work my way through Murikami's 1Q84. What a tomb, over 900 pages long. I started on the Kindle, my pass expired, so now I am using the hard copy; it's called a book.
