Windy Morning |
It's a gray, windy morning with lots of duck hunters blasting away so I skipped kayaking this morning. It's still warmer than usual, 40º, but will be dropping during the day with the possibility of snow tomorrow, Monday. Rain has also been predicted for this morning but so far, it's still dry.
Yesterday was another good morning, a relaxing afternoon, and a fun evening. The day started with a long paddle, down to Bootey Bay and back. We were in no hurry to gather trash, so we had a long coffee morning until Evie was ready. I then drove off to the Transfer Station, surprisingly quiet, got rid of more Amazon boxes as usual, and came home ready to go for a walk. We decided to walk Webb's Trail in Mayville, a good choice. We walked almost three miles, almost to the end of the second part and back. It was nice and cool going, a bit windy on the way back but not uncomfortably so.

Pleasant Walking |
Lunch was easy, just eat up once gained the Santa Fe Chicken, finish it watch the end of The Wire, Season Three, and start Season Four. Usually, weekend afternoons don't change much, as I watch some basketball or football until I am bored and either take a nap or read. Evie then watches a movie, usually an oldie but goodie until she gets bored or finishes the film. It was nice not having to worry about dinner nor have anything yard work this time of the year.

A Pleasant Evening Out |
By 6:15, we were gussied up and ready to be picked up for dinner by Linda and Ron. We were dining at the Bemus Point Inn, basically a breakfast and lunch place until recently when they served dinner on Fridays and Saturdays. I assume once lunch is done, the dining area will be completely redone, with hanging lights and table lamps, giving it a pleasant vibe, nothing like a diner. They offer six different kinds of wine, for twenty-four dollars a bottle, a smart way of serving wine...no ridiculous markups. We ordered a calamari for an appetizer, a good choice. For dinner, I ordered the prime rib, really good, and Evie a pork chop which, unfortunately, was tough. Still, we had a fun evening with Linda and Ron and were one of the last groups in the dining room. We were home by 8:30 and watched the usual until it was time to go to bed.
