It's a Chautauqua gray morning as rain is predicted, temperatures, rise and the snow melts, alas. It's a quiet, calm lake morning, with not a ripple, a good morning for kayaking if it doesn't start to rain. It's after 9:00 and I paddled for forty-five minutes, arriving home just as it started to drizzle, perfect timing. The lake was gun metal gray and smooth, easy paddling.

Thursday turned out to be a good day. It started with a great 55-minute paddle, despite the cold and snow. I then had time to have breakfast and write the blog before driving off to a relaxing Yin Yoga class of 25 people, four guys, the rest gals. After class, I had coffee with my friend Paul, and then headed home.
Our good friends from Hudson, Barb, and Mike, were stopping over in the early afternoon, so as I was finishing my lunch, they knocked at the door, surprising us by coming early. They had spent a day or two visiting Fort Niagara, where some of Barb's father's drawings and paintings were on display. They spent the night in Lewiston, then hit a couple of Barb's favorite spots in Jamestown where she grew up. It was fun to see them and great that they stopped by for a couple-hour visit.
After they left, I was able to get in a brief nap and did some reading but by 4:00, I was ready to complete my trifecta and go for a hike around the Woodlawn/Victoria woods. So I tromped through the six to eight inches of snow for just over a half hour, as the sun was setting through the woods to the west. It felt good to be out there and a surprisingly warm 40º.

When I returned, Evie had dinner prepped, so we relaxed for an hour, listening to the news. By 6:15, she pulled out the chicken thighs which had been marinating in yogurt overnight, breaded them put the in the air fryer, and made a salad. She served the cutlets topped with salad and it was delicious, one of our new favorites. We watched the Great English Baking Show, and some ER, and then Evie watched a good part of the Golden Bachelor. We watched maybe five minutes of the Newsome/Desantis debate but couldn't stand it and watched CNN.
