8:44 |
It's 8:45, Evie just came downstairs and I just came in from an hour on the lake. It's an overcast morning, breezy, with the sun occasionally breaking through the clouds. It's warmer than it felt as I kayaked, a 67º. It should be a nice couple of days, with little if any rain forecast which means nothing.

Paddling Into The Sun |
Thursday turned out to be a pleasant day, with most of the rain coming overnight, at least an inch. During the day, however, the sun was out, perfect for dock time and we took advantage of it during the afternoon. I skipped kayaking because of the heavy fog, had breakfast with the guys in Bemus, then left at 9:40 for another good Yin Yoga class, as we worked on hip openers, a favorite of the class of women. I then did a quick run-through of Aldi's, picking up staples like milk, eggs, yogurt, and lettuce before heading home.

Long Point Hikers |
Evie had been busy while I was gone, of course, washing the remaining dishes from Wednesday night and spifying up the kitchen. We were not sure about lunch so Evie returned to what's becoming my go-to lunch, avocado toast with fried eggs. What could be better? Once lunch was made, I ate and watched my series and Evie went out to enjoy the sun and read on the dock. I read some, napped briefly, then joined her for an hour before we decided the lake was too nice to remain on the dock so we went our for a forty-five-minute cruise, to Bemus and back to Magnolia and home. We then enjoyed the sun for another half hour before coming in to give me a quick shearing in the backyard. My hair was beginning to look shaggy but once Evie cut it, I was a new boy.
We both showered then met up with our neighbors, Ken and Majorie who drove us to Pine Junction near Sherman, a half-hour drive through the beautiful Chautauqua countryside. We were the only ones sitting in the bar area which was as good as sitting outside. We had portabello mushrooms and onion rings as appetizers and everyone ordered a different burger with fries, all good. We drove home in the dark as it gets dark by 7:30 these days. We invited them in for the last of the chocolate cake and some ice cream to end the night. They left around 9:00 and we watched another Jeopardy and then Colbert to end the night.
