It's 8:45 and I have been out paddling for over an hour and a half, loving the calm, blue of the  lake, and the sun, partially hidden by the clouds at times.  I paddled over to Long Point, then Warner Bay, then home, then down to Sandy Bottom and back.  I did not want to come in. The highlight, however, was running into our neighbors and fellow kayakers, Tina and Jim, up for the first time this Spring.  They like us, try to get out most mornings.

Yesterday's paddle was like today, only cooler and not as long.  I didn't get back till just before 9:00 and it took a while to get the blog done.  Because it was sunny and cool, Evie wanted to walk the woods at Long Point.  We quickly did the Saturday morning routine, cleaning out the refrigerator, emptying wastebaskets and taking the trash off to the Transfer Station.  It was busy, with most guys wearing masks.  We then drove over to Bemus, down Lakeside Drive to the park.  We walked a couple of miles, running into fat-tire bikes and a few families, out for a walk or to walk their dog. It was a good walk although muddy from the rain.

We did not get home till 1:00 so I had a quick lunch, the last of the cauliflower soup, and toasted cheese with jam. I watched the first episode of Fauda, Season two, which started, literally, with a big bang.  I then returned to my book which I am really liking, napped for a good hour I think, woke feeling refreshed and ready to do something. Evie felt that way as well so I fired up the lawnmower for her and she cut the front yard while I worked on raking and picking up all the twigs and deadfall in both our neighbors and our yard, filling a couple of cans.

We both finished around 5:00 and were looking forward to our reward for our efforts, Manhattan Saturday.  I made the drink and Evie got out our appetizer, pretzels, and dip.  Just as we sat down the blue disappeared and the gray skies returned, alas, but we still enjoyed our hour, listening to a Manhattan playlist Evie put together with some of our favorite songs.  It was a good way to end the afternoon.

We planned on as easy dinner.  Evie heated up the leftover Wienerschnitzel and made a salad and that was our dinner.  It was more than enough, especially with cherry pie and ice cream for dessert. We watched some of the news, then Real Time With Bill Maher, and ended the night with a couple of Cheers.  It ended up being a productive day.
