Up just at 6:00, obviously getting back in my routine, as the Labor Day Weekend ends. Another theatrical sunrise, with clouds, sun, and fog, the color of rose. It seems to get better each morning lately. It's warming up a bit each morning, a 56ยบ at the moment, with lots of sun and a high in the 80's as the summer people head home, some until next June. Silly people. My brother in law, Henry, left early this morning to catch his plane in Buffalo at 8:20. Evie's sister's fly out of Buffalo later in the afternoon.
So yesterday was our last day to really enjoy the day, no travel worries or plans. We had a quick breakfast of bagels and coffee after relaxing until 10:00. We then boated over to the Chautauqua Institution for a Sunday walk around the grounds, a beautiful day to walk. It was easy to dock the boat although lots of others had the same idea. And the grounds, even though the season is over, were fairly busy with families, walkers, and visitors. We walked the north end, ogling the various houses, especially the crowd pleaser, what we like to call the Purell House, all 13,000 feet, most likely around 13 million bucks to build. It's a pretty nice place. Around noon, we toured some of the lake neighborhoods in the boat before heading back, hoping Evie already had the bacon and home fries frying, the bagels toasting. She did, so we sat down to a great alfresco breakfast, in our yard, just as the morning was beginning to warm up. Everyone loved it, of course, as bacon and home fries always make your eggs, sunny side up, better.

A HUGE DONALD TRUMP LIKE BREAKFAST |
We then did our own thing the rest of the afternoon, as it was delicious to sit out under the trees in the shade or on the porch, and read or nap. Around 3:00, Evie and two of her sisters kayaked down to Sandy Bottom and back, working up quite a sweat as the lake was beginning to warm up. Around 4:30, we grabbed a refreshment and played numerous rounds of bean bag, as Elaine's efforts kept us in stitches. She either missed the board or threw a ringer. We then relaxed in the yard until it was time to fire up the grill and I cooked out some burgers. We has a fairly simply dinner after the last couple of nights, burgers, heavenly local corn on the cob and cole slaw. We ate outside again, wondering why we hadn't done it other nights. Clean up was easy and around 8:00, just as it was starting to get dark, I built a fire in our fire pit and we sat around the fire pit, talking and keeping warm until 9:45. It was a good way to spend our last evening together at the lake.

Burgers And Corn, The Best |
We then went in, the sisters gathering around the dining room table and talked, while Henry and I alternated between the Weather Channel and a football game until it was time to go to bed, around 11:00.
It's 7:30 and I am still the only one up although Henry's probably in Buffalo's Airport Lounge, waiting for his flight. I don't envy him his hour flight to New York City, then later in the day, he flies to Hong Kong, 12 hours, then a connecting flight to Myanmar for a couple of days, then home again to Long Island, on Friday.
