Up at 6:15, a quiet dawn morning, a strange sky, bright off to the north, the south dark, very unusual unless I am confused.  Since the sun is moving slowly south sand rises now over Bemus Bay, the sky is usually brightest off to the south, not today.  It's 62 degrees, a cool dampness in the air, as I confront the day.  

Yesterday was a busy day for Evie as our good friend Virpi Buck (Finnish) and her friend Susan came for the day.  They got here bright and early, as is Vi's wont, about 9:00.  Needless to say, we were up early, vacuuming the house and getting it spic n span.  Evie had made a Pulla yesterday, a Finnish pastry, so we sat out on the front porch and  enjoyed it along with Turkish tea, catching up on the OU news. It's good to get back in the routine of having Turkish tea, this batch from the Black Sea town of Rize, in Turkey.  I have to order it from Tulumba, a Turkish E-store on the Internet.  Around 11:00, we took the boat over to Bemus, on a bumpy lake as there were many boaters out on the start of Labor Day Weekend.  While I sat in the shade and read at the Bemus library bench, the girls hit the stores, shopping and buying, as the sales have begun.  We ate our lunch, burgers of course, at the cowboy restaurant, what Vi calls the Seezurh House because it reminds her of the wild west.  We boated home around 1:30, relaxed outside in the yard, on a fine September afternoon, a nice breeze in our yard, quite a contrast to the hot and humid air at Bemus.  What a difference.

Around 3:00, the gals went shopping on this side of the lake, to the Art's Loft, Home Chic, and Red Brick farm.  I stayed home this time, let them enjoy their shopping without my harping about going home.  Around 5:00, they drove back to Painesville, Ohio, a fun visit for them and us.  Both women love the area, especially our house and lake view, the shopping, the short ride from Ohio.

We had a sundowner on the front porch, ate the pork chops and sauerkraut Evie had made for dinner the previous night, and watched three more episodes of Breaking Bad, as we are almost up to season five, saved on our DVR.
