It's 8:22 and I am pondering whether to attempt a paddle. It's windy but maybe I can enjoy it. Evie beat me up this morning, getting up just before me at 7:30. It's 9:40 and I paddled for just twenty minutes, the lake choppy and windy as I thought. At least I got out there.
Kayak Morning |
Yesterday began with a paddle, as usual, on a calm lake. We had no big plans for the day, just get a few things done, think about our trip next week, and plan or prep for a couple of meals. Around 10:00, I came up with a few errands so off I went, first for a coffee, then to the bank, and finally at Runnings and picked up a flannel shirt and pajama bottoms for twenty bucks, a deal, right. On the way home, I stopped at Petersons Farm but nothing interested me. When I got home, Evie was busy of course so I heated up my lunch in the microwave, the leftover lemon chicken and rice. What would we do without leftovers?
I am having trouble trying to find a book to read and started both Creation Lake and an oldie, The Man From St. Petersburg by Ken Follett. Neither has grabbed me yet. So I tried to nap to no avail, read some then decided to go outside and do some yard work and finish up most of my prep for the winter, clearing out the garage so I can park the Outback in it during the cold months.
Around 5:00, we had our usual glass or two of wine, with guacamole and chips as an appetizer. Dinner was pasta with Italian sausage and a salad, and we watched The Great British Baking Show and House of Cards before some basketball. Our TV routine has not changed much in the past week or two. We were both happy to go up to bed, tired from our lazy day.
