It's just 6:00 and I have been up since 5:20, enjoying sitting out on the porch for once because the sunrise is hidden behind a cloud bank. Lots of clouds this morning on an unseasonably warm day, 68º at the moment, the high 80s later in the day. It's 9:40 as I finish this although I was out on the lake, paddling by 6:40.  Guess who just woke about 15 minutes ago?

Yesterday turned out to be a really good day. It started with the usual, kayaking and breakfast and the blog, but by 9:00, Beth, Marisa, and I were off to yoga class in Lakewood. We try to get in one class each time they visit. By 11:00, we had finished and were at Ryders' Cup, enjoying a cup of coffee before driving home. Evie had been busy when we were gone and the house was spic n span, the sheets and towels almost finished.

Lunch was easy, the leftover Slovenian sausage and white beans and rice stew for the three of us. I watched my show, then took a brief nap. We did not have any plans for the afternoon. We realized that there was a nice breeze under our trees and despite the 86º heat, it was comfortable to sit there and read. So that's how we spent most of the afternoon.

Loving The Lake

By 5:30, however, we were on the boat, cruising to the Bemus Point Bridge and home, on a delicious late afternoon. I took a swim, then, to cool off as the gals started prepping dinner. Around 7:00, I grilled lamb chops and we enjoyed them once again, sitting outdoors. Along with the chops, we had salad, rice, beans, and sweet corn, roasted cauliflower, a feast. We did up the dishes and sat in the living room, thinking about doing something but it was too nice just sitting around on our devices, relaxing.  We finally watched some TV, Jeopardy, then went to bed around 10:00, the end of an uneventful but good day.
