Morning Sun
|
There was a brief amazing morning sunrise before the cloud cover took over and the sun disappeared but for a brief moment, it was spectacular. It's still cold out there, 26º, and the windshield on my car is frozen.

Wednesday was not much of a day although I was able to get in a good walk in our woods mid-morning So around 9:30, after breakfast, I walked through the woods for forty-five minutes, the first time in a while. The snow had melted so it was a dreary walk among the fallen dead leaves, basically a world of brown, not a bit of green. Still, it felt good to be out there and enjoy the cold air.

We then drove to Jamestown for Evie's appointment with a blood specialist. Basically, Evie has been diagnosed with iron overload and has one of the two genetic markers for hemochromatosis. The cure is phlebotomy, basically bloodletting. So after the appointment, she sat in a chair for a good hour and a half, first making sure she was well hydrated with an IV, then taking out a pint of blood. This will be repeated monthly until her iron level is acceptable. We arrived at 12:45 and did not leave until 3:30, getting home around 4:00. The only good thing was I picked up a pizza at the Italian restaurant across the street so we had dinner made.

Snowy Ride To Jamestown |
Since we missed lunch, we both had a piece of pizza when we got home, then waited until 7:00 to have the rest of the pizza with a salad. We relaxed of course until dinner, like usual, watching TV or reading, and even took a cat nap.
We continue to struggle to find something on TV we like, starting a series called Firefly Lane but we had enough after an episode and a half when we realized we had started once before and quit it. Sometimes, I think we do not give a series a chance, are too quick to criticize it, and stop watching. So we watched another Jeopardy and Colbert although we both are getting tired of Colbert, too, after all these years.
