Early Bird Gets The ?

It's 6:30 and I  have been up for forty-five minutes, listening to Morning Joe for some reason, getting depressed at the news.  It's gray out, sky and lake, with just enough rain to wet the sidewalk and garden. It' 7:50 and I have paddled for forty-five minutes and Evie's been out on the dock Zen fishing in the rain that doesn't get us wet. Bizarre.

Bald Eagle Ready For Take Off

Yesterday was supposed to be cloudy and wet but it ended up being just another warm partly sunny day, no rain, just heat, and humidity.  I kayaked, as usual, came home to finish the blog. Evie has developed a bad cough and it keeps her up much of the night so she wanted to get in to see her PA.  Unfortunately, if you have a cough, you have to have a virtual appointment which she had after many complications.  Because I had a tooth cleaning appointment with my dentist at 11;15,  I was able to stop at Wegman's on the way home and pick up some prescriptions for her which she hopes will help her sleep,

Of course, Evie did not let her tiredness deter her from cutting half of the yard until, finally, at my insistence, she let me cut the rest of it.  It was hot and humid most of the day, not exactly the kind of weather that made you want to work outside.  After Wegman's, I made a salami sandwich for lunch, took a nap, and helped out in the house.  The afternoon ended with Evie watering her garden with lake water before prepping dinner

We had leftover baked potatoes, cut up and fried, bacon and eggs for dinner, fast becoming an easy go-to dinner.  We watched three episodes of The Handmaids' Tale and it's not exactly exciting TV but we ended the evening with two short episodes of Hacks, a new series on HBO Max about an aging comedian and her relationship with a young hip writer. So far, we really like it.
