A Sunny, Blue Sky Morning

I was up at 6:00, opened the blinds to a blue sky, the sun yet to rise.  By 6:30, however, the sun had risen above Long Point, its reflection on the lake blinding, filling our living room with light.  It's warming up some, 51º and may get up to 70º later in the day with, perhaps, some rain,

Yesterday was another dismal spring day, cold, overcast, with occasional rain.  I, fortunately, was able to start the day with a paddle despite the weather, always a good way to start my morning.  Beginning yoga was fine because none of us are beginners, mostly regulars.  I stopped at Sav A Lot to pick up a few things and at Hogan's to pick up a sub for my lunches.  When I returned, Evie was upstairs, continuing with some projects and getting ready for the Y.

Lunch was half of the hoagie, no soup this time and an episode of BOSCH.  Both of did our usual the rest of the afternoon, occasionally getting something done in the house, then taking it easy either on the couch or in the TV room.  I suppose I could have gotten in a walk but I just did not feel like it.  Evie started putting together our dinner around 5:00 with a spritzer, her favorite, a couple of ounces of Martini and Rossi's Bianco, with seltzer and lemon.  We were going healthy last night with portobello mushrooms stuffed with garlic spinach, a salad, and rolls.  It was a nice change from our usual dinner with some kind of chicken or beef.  We watched Colbert then spent the rest of the night at concerts, first watching the special on the rebirth of Queen with Adam Lambert from American Idol.

We then ended the night watching HOMECOMING on NETFLIX, a special on Beyonce, produced and made by Beyonce.  It was mostly a video of her headlining concert at Coachella, the huge music bash near Palm Springs, CA.

If you like shaking booties, amazing production numbers, interesting looks at the rehearsals of over a hundred dancers, musicians, and singers, then you will like this documentary.  I am not crazy about Beyonce's music, hardly recognized her songs yet the young people at the concert seemed to know every word.  It was an amazing insight into the effort, time, and creativity of an entirely black cast and creators, a paean to black culture and its people, joyful and jubilant,
