Fishing Chautauqua Lake In The Winter (40 inch, 20 Pound Muskie, caught at Prendergast) (photo from Facebook) |

7:20 |
It's 7:30 and we are both up, watching the birds empty our feeder, the sky mostly gray, the lake a bright white. The first four-wheeler drove out on the lake at 7:00, his red tail lights trailing his way.
It's 17º and may get up into the low 20's. Snow is forecast for the next couple of days.

11:40 AM |
Yesterday started out a typical snowy Monday but by noon, the sun came out and we had a delightful blue sky and sunshine the rest of the day. I was happy to go to yoga at 9:00 but had to clean two or three inches of snow off my car and scrape the ice off the windshield before leaving. After class, I stopped for coffee, said aloha to Joyce's Mom who has been under the weather before driving home. When I drove in, the sun was just coming out, so I parked the car on our road and spent 15 minutes shovelling our parking space of light fluffy snow. It felt good to be outside in the cold air.

Evie had made a rich butternut squash soup while I was at yoga. Because her sciatica has been acting up, she has had to limit her working out and skiing alas, staying inside, making sure to avoid aggravating it. I had the soup for lunch with the last of the schnitzel and watched the final episode of Bloodline, Season 1. I guess Danny is dead. Good. The rest of the afternoon was the same, some reading of my Longmire, a nap, just taking it easy for both Evie and me. Around 4:00, I went out on the lake almost an hour, cross country skiing under a brilliant blue sky down to Wells Bay and back. Lots of guys were out fishing and it was a great afternoon to be on the lake, either fishing or skiing.

Heading Out at 4:00 |
When I got back, we relaxed with a glass of wine and a treat, chips and dip until it was time for dinner, the warmed up stew from Sunday night with biscuits. We caught up on a couple of shows we missed and ended the night with Vice News which ended with a news story about Greeks filling the streets to protest the country of Macedonia using the name 'Macedonia.' The Greeks feel Macedonia is a Greek name/word and should not be used by another country. Interesting.
