Dark and wet, as I am up about 5:15 as we are off to see my daughter Beth's family in Daren, CT, for five days.  It looks like the drive will be wet but not snow, enshallal.  It's about 7 hours, perhaps a bit less depending on road conditions, stops, and whether we head through the city or go around it, like we usually do.  It's actually as easy drive as long as there's no snow or ice.

Long Point and Bemus Bay

Yesterday was a day of getting ready, making more cookies for the kids for Evie, heading into the mall for some final shopping, picking up a few goodies at Wegman's, nothing too exciting.  We were both tired for some reasons, perhaps packing does that to you but I feel good this morning.  We cannot wait to see the kids.  We usually make it before Marisa finishes school, so we walk the back way through neighbor's yards to meet her, if the weather permits.  Mitch gets home about the same time but takes a bus; Tyler may work out today but I think his crew is finished.

We left about 6:45 in the morning,  got into Darien, about 2:00 so it's an easy 7 hour drive, despite rain just about the entire way.  Lots of fog on the road at times, more on the hills, and the rivers and creeks seemed to be high, as if it had rain a lot.  I picked up Mitch at PT, Marisa at school, Tyler at the train, so I have been busy.  Beth is off with Marisa at a cookie decorating party at the local country club with a neighbor, so Evie and I are taking care of the boys.  Mitch is up doing homework and we are sitting in the living room listening to Tyler play various songs on his guitar, a nice break for him from homework and school.  Of course, a nice glass of red wine, some crackers and Saint Andre's cheese makes it even better.
