8:45 |
It's 8:45, and I was up at 7:15, didn't get out on the water until 7:45, and was out kayaking for 45 minutes, down to Sandy Bottom and back, and was lucky to photograph two different herons. I listened to a podcast on China, and they discussed China's export restrictions on rare earth minerals needed for everything from laptops to jet engines. China produces 97% of the world's rare earth minerals, and the restrictions are in response to Trump's tariffs

Yesterday was a good day, a busy one for me, a nice, relaxing one for Evie, as she gears up for her kindergarten class today. I paddled for over an hour, to Tom's Point and back on another amazing sky morning. I was home after 9:00, and we didn't publish the blog until close to 10:00. I decided to bike, opting for Long Point, and around 10:30, I drove over to Bemus and parked just beyond the bridge. I biked to Bemus, along Lakeside Drive to the park, then around Long Point State Park, ending up at the point, literally across the lake from our home, then back to the car. It took me over an hour and I felt good riding, especially through the woods. I stopped at the Bemus Point Market for a sub, and the cashier was also the sandwich guy, so I waited about ten minutes for my sub.

A Bed Of Leaves |
I was back in time for wine time, and we made the mistake of listening to the news. Earlier, Evie had seared some pork ribs, added tomatoes and sauerkraut, and let it slow cook for a couple of hours. Dinner was great, and we watched a couple of episodes of All Saints until the Bills game started on TV. Evie stayed for most of the first half, then went to bed, and I, unfortunately, stayed up to the very end.
